E is for Entertainment News

April 6, 2011

Yup, that is what this blog is all about! Entertainment news, opinions, thoughts and rants to be precise! When I first began this blog, I had no idea where it was going to go. I was doubtful that anyone would ever read it and that maybe blogging in general was just a waste of time. I was very wrong.

I can’t claim to be one of the best at writing entertainment news, though I do make up for some of the skill I lack with enthusiasm *lol* I have always been interested in the world of celebrity. I think I must have been a theatre actress or a Las Vegas showgirl in a past life because I am drawn in by the bright lights and the excitement!

To share my passion with the world, I recently created a new site dedicated to entertainment news. It is still new and needs a little more work done but if you want to pop over and take a look, you can find it at: A Shining Moment

Hope you all have an awesome day!

D is for Dreams

April 5, 2011

Have you ever had a dream come true? When I was a teenager, one of my biggest dreams came true when I went to a Boyzone concert and saw Stephen Gately live on stage. It sounds distinctly uncool now, but at the time it was the happiest day of my life!

I had posters of Stephen Gately all over my bedroom. I played their first album until I wore it out and I doodled “Mrs Karen Gately” all over my schoolbooks. Of course, he hadn’t revealed he was gay at that point :p

Anyhow, that night at the concert alongside hundreds (it was a small arena!) of screaming fans, I saw the man I wanted to marry. The feeling was pretty surreal. I distinctly remember being ecstatically happy while at the same time, feeling like it wasn’t real.

Teenage crushes on pop stars or movie stars is something most people go through. Stephen Gately was my first genuine celebrity love, swiftly followed by Robbie Williams. Who were your celebrity crushes, and did you ever get to see them in the flesh?

Best Movies of the 80s

March 28, 2011

Back in the 1980s, when I was just a little kid, some of the movies released were fabulous. Granted, I didn’t get to see most of them for at least six or seven years after they were released but that didn’t seem to lessen the brilliance of them. 80s movies seem to have a timelessness to them. Even after so many years, you can still sit down to watch them and enjoy them the way you did when they were first released. Movies such as E.T have gone on to be classics for kids who weren’t even thought of in the 80s. I wonder how many of today’s films will stand the test of time so well.

The 1980’s was a time of great movies. Although the movies back then weren’t filled with stunning animation and 3D effects, the simplicity of them was a part of what made them so endearing. Actors such as Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze and Drew Barrymore were just beginning their rise to superstardom and the “Brat Pack” were in their prime. ….Read more about Best Movies of the 80s

Happy Saturday!

March 19, 2011

Hey everyone! I don’t usually do a Saturday post but I am up ready for my day and wanted to share some exciting news!

I now have a brand new website for entertainment articles! This means you will be able to find a variety of articles about music, movies, TV and celebrities all in one handy place. The articles aren’t just my own work. There are contributions from many talented writers, and our tates all differ quite a lot too!

The feed from this blog will be imported to the website also, so it’s a bit like a partner to this blog! I hope you’ll all go and take a look around!

Harry Potter geekdom

January 26, 2011

I may or may not have mentioned my obssessive love for Harry Potter in a previous post! If I haven’t….I have an obsessive love for Harry Potter! For what must be almost ten years, I have relished the books and the movies, discussed theories, even written fanfic! Harry Potter is how I managed to make so many friends online too so it will always have a special place in my heart. Recently I wrote an article that I would like to share with you about Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. I have not always been a fan of her acting, however, what she does show is a glimpse of what more she has to give as an actress and I am looking forward to seeing any upcoming projects she may have! For now though, here is a look back at her time in Harry Potter.

RPattz and Emma Watson Make News AGAIN!

September 30, 2010

As a Robert Pattinson fan, and NOT a KStew fan, it amuses me to see all of this gossip around Pattinson and the lovely Emma Watson. Now technically, I’m not an Emma Watson fan either – but my love of Harry Potter far outweighs my distaste for Twilight. I am quite sure all of these rumours are complete crap and none of it really came from any of these actors – but that isn’t really what I wanted to talk about anyway!
Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson were Named Best Dressed Brits today, and that is all kinds of awesome! Love her or hate her, Emma Watson has got style! Robert Pattinson…well, he’s hot, what more needs to be said? 😀

Spreading the Gary Oldman love!

September 21, 2010

Gary Oldman is a complete legend. Anyone who knows me will be able to tell you that he is my favourite actor of all time. I love him so much that I even forgive him for the epic lapse in judgement he made when he agreed to star in Tiptoes! (God, that movie is awful, have you ever seen it?!)

Gary Oldman has starred in many, many movies, but I have some favourites! take a look: Best Gary Oldman Movies
