G is for Gleeks!

April 8, 2011

I am not ashamed to admit that I ADORE Glee. I am WAY behind as the US gets the latest episodes ahead of the UK, but I am trying to keep up as best as I can, busy schedule allowing. I will probably end up buying Season 2 on DVD when it is released so I can watch them all at once anyway *lol*

There is something cheesy within me that enjoys the bursts of happy people singing and the choices of music are really quite diverse too. I also love the casting. They really got everything right, and I muchly enjoy the eye candy that is Matthew Morrison. He is one of the few actors I want to pull out of my TV screen and ravish!

Anyway….*lol* a while ago I heard about an iPhone app for Glee which meant you can start your very own Glee club! You get points for singing songs, and if you submit them to the “Glee Globe” others can listen and become a “gleek” – which basically means a fan. It’s amazingly good fun! Find out more here.

F is for Flashforward

April 7, 2011

Anyone who knows me well could probably have predicted a Flashforward post today! For those who don’t know, ABC’s Flashforward was probably my favourite TV show of all time. from start to finish I was gripped with the characters, the plot, and the whole concept of how people would cope if they got a glimpse of where they would be in six months time. So obsessed was I, that my friend Eva and I began a podcast, Squirrelio Fans!

I have to say, Flashforward really did a lot for me. As many great shows do, Flashforward introduced me to a new world of amazing people. Flashforward fans actually are the best, and I made some awesome new friends while I was busy obssessing!

I will always be sad that the show was abruptly brought to a halt by ABC because there was so much more to come. So many loose ends. However, even though it met an untimely end, I will always be grateful for its existence and will never fully let go of the hope that one day, it might come back!

E is for Entertainment News

April 6, 2011

Yup, that is what this blog is all about! Entertainment news, opinions, thoughts and rants to be precise! When I first began this blog, I had no idea where it was going to go. I was doubtful that anyone would ever read it and that maybe blogging in general was just a waste of time. I was very wrong.

I can’t claim to be one of the best at writing entertainment news, though I do make up for some of the skill I lack with enthusiasm *lol* I have always been interested in the world of celebrity. I think I must have been a theatre actress or a Las Vegas showgirl in a past life because I am drawn in by the bright lights and the excitement!

To share my passion with the world, I recently created a new site dedicated to entertainment news. It is still new and needs a little more work done but if you want to pop over and take a look, you can find it at: A Shining Moment

Hope you all have an awesome day!

D is for Dreams

April 5, 2011

Have you ever had a dream come true? When I was a teenager, one of my biggest dreams came true when I went to a Boyzone concert and saw Stephen Gately live on stage. It sounds distinctly uncool now, but at the time it was the happiest day of my life!

I had posters of Stephen Gately all over my bedroom. I played their first album until I wore it out and I doodled “Mrs Karen Gately” all over my schoolbooks. Of course, he hadn’t revealed he was gay at that point :p

Anyhow, that night at the concert alongside hundreds (it was a small arena!) of screaming fans, I saw the man I wanted to marry. The feeling was pretty surreal. I distinctly remember being ecstatically happy while at the same time, feeling like it wasn’t real.

Teenage crushes on pop stars or movie stars is something most people go through. Stephen Gately was my first genuine celebrity love, swiftly followed by Robbie Williams. Who were your celebrity crushes, and did you ever get to see them in the flesh?

C is for Charlie Sheen and Cameos

April 4, 2011

Two and a Half Men is one of my favourite TV shows of all time. I remember the first time I watched it. I was getting ready for work, and on Paramount Comedy (now called Comedy Central) I noticed the show was on. I’d never heard of it, but I am always on the look out for something funny to watch, so I let it play in the background. The episode was, “I Can’t Afford Hyenas” and although it isn’t one of my favourite episodes now, at the time it was the one that drew me in.

Since then, I have seen series 1 – 6 numerous times. I still need to catch up on the newer episode, but in the UK, they tend to only play the newest episodes at a time of day when my mother takes over the TV! :p

Throughout the show’s run, Two and a Half Men have had some fabulous cameo appearances. Here is a look at some of the most memroable Two and a Half Men Guest Stars.

March 22, 2011

The season finale of Pretty Little Liars came last night and I feel….ever so slightly let down.

Let’s be fair. Many of the events that happenn in the show rely on the suspension of belief just a little bit. But it never really goes so far that you think it is ridiculous. With the way things ended last night though, I’m not really sure what to think. How many suspects are there for being “A”?!

I think it’s a fairly safe bet that Ian killed Ali, but what’s with the dodgy policeman?! I wondered if he was genuine when he first appeared on the screen but it’s obvious now that he isn’t. But I really hate the introduction of a new dodgy character so late in the game. What is he doing with Jenna?!

I muchly enjoyed the suspense of the Spencer/Ian fight towards the end. He is a true psychopath! First question though, why do girls in danger always run UP the stairs?! What is the reasoning???? Second question, what happened to the little flash drive with all the videos on after Spencer threw it at him? Was it left on the floor or did he take it? The part when the other girls rushed in to find Spencer and we saw Ian hanging from the ropes was fantastic but had he really been dead – it would have looked as though Spencer may have killed him.

My brain could not cope with the prospect that he somehow escaped strangulation. Did the mysterious stranger who saved Spencer then go back and rescue Ian?! How did he get out of those ropes?!

Of course, the bigger question is….who was the mysterious stranger? I thought the shot on Noel was interesting, so he could perhaps have had something to do with it.

I can’t work out why I feel a little let down by the last episode. I enjoyed watching it, and it was certainly full of drama. I think I was hoping for a few more answers. I also wanted to see more of both Caleb and Toby *lol*

And now we have to wait longer than ever to find out what happens next 😦 On the plus side though, Pretty Little Liars will be released on DVD in the US quite soon so you can re-watch all the action to your heart’s content!

Happy Saturday!

March 19, 2011

Hey everyone! I don’t usually do a Saturday post but I am up ready for my day and wanted to share some exciting news!

I now have a brand new website for entertainment articles! This means you will be able to find a variety of articles about music, movies, TV and celebrities all in one handy place. The articles aren’t just my own work. There are contributions from many talented writers, and our tates all differ quite a lot too!

The feed from this blog will be imported to the website also, so it’s a bit like a partner to this blog! I hope you’ll all go and take a look around!
